This project aligns with his ambition to deepen his understanding of the mechanical properties of solids and apply this knowledge to real-world engineering challenges. His PhD marks a significant step forward, building on his prior experience in computational solid mechanics research. Originally from Patna, India, Abhijeet moved to Lausanne in 2021 to pursue his MSc. During this time, he interned at Hexagon, working on modifying gear designs and gaining valuable industrial experience. For his master’s thesis, he undertook an exchange at ETH Zurich, focusing on the fracture behavior of metamaterials. Abhijeet is passionate about academia and eager to take the next step toward his ultimate goal of becoming a professor, inspiring and equipping students to tackle future challenges.
In his free time, he enjoys hosting dinner gatherings, experimenting with cooking, and occasionally hitting the gym.
